Board Member Spotlight: Dan Ventura, NHCCC’s Board President
I’m Dan Ventura, president of the North Hood Canal Chamber of Commerce, a Brinnon resident, and a business owner. My business, Hawk Equipment Services, provides fixed gas detection services nationwide, while our family’s Cove RV Park & Country Store is rooted right here in Brinnon. Those businesses give me a perspective on both the challenges of growing a company and the importance of the small businesses that serve our rural communities every day.
Beyond the Chamber, I serve as a fire commissioner for Jefferson County Fire District 4 and participate on the Public Infrastructure Fund Board and Lodging Tax Advisory Committee. Across those roles, my focus is helping our communities thrive while preserving the rural character that makes this area special.
What I value most about the Chamber is its ability to bring people together and give local businesses a stronger voice. Brinnon, Quilcene, and Coyle each have their own identity and needs, and I want to help ensure those communities are represented in conversations about economic development, infrastructure, and our region’s future.
As Chamber president, I’m interested in practical ways we can support existing businesses, create opportunities for people to earn a living locally, and strengthen connections between business owners, residents, and local government. I want the Chamber to be a place where people can bring ideas and concerns, find support, and work together on things that make a real difference in South Jefferson County.
**New Board Member Update **
**Tonya GarskeHollenbeck **has joined our Board! Thank you to all members who voted.
Get to know Tonya: I am a proud Brinnon resident and small business owner. I would very much appreciate the opportunity to serve on the NHCCC Board and contribute to the continued success of our local business community.
I am passionate about supporting our chamber members through effective promotion, marketing, and supportive services, while also helping advance tourism and economic development throughout our local area. I believe a strong chamber benefits not only our businesses, but our entire community.
Port Townsend Glassworks
Located within the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, in the New Commercial Building, Port Townsend Glassworks produces high-quality, hand-blown glass art and functional items for daily use. From vases and bowls, to drinking cups, and seasonal items like pumpkins, ornaments, and garden art.
There is something for everyone, a great place to find a local hand-made gift for a loved one or treat yourself.
We also offer specialty services such as glass blowing experiences and classes that are fun for the whole family, no experience necessary. Coming to watch us work is always free, and a great time to learn about the art and craft of glassblowing. **Welcome our new student interns! **
NHCCC is excited to welcome two new Student Board Member Representatives for the 2026–2027 school year! To support these students in their leadership journey, NHCCC, with the generous support of Emerald Towns Alliance and private donors, has secured scholarship funding for the successful completion of their internships.
To help grow the NHCCC Youth Scholarship Fund and expand opportunities for future student leaders, we are seeking additional donations from local businesses, organizations, agencies, and community members. Every contribution helps invest in our local youth, support their professional development, and empower the next generation of leaders in our community.
